VerNx Biotechnology is pioneering the research, development, and commercialization of branched fats found naturally in vernix caseosa. Compared to full-term infants, premature infants are at risk of development problems in their gut, which in turn affects the development of the lungs and brain. Research has shown that these developmental problems are related to inadequate nutrition. VerNx Biotechnology is committed to providing science-based medical foods that improve the gastrointestinal health of infants, and reduce the incidence of necrotizing enterocolitis. The company is developing a range of medical nutrition products based on the nutritional requirements of premature infants to prevent disease and promote development.

Cornell Connection
