Crunch Time Apple Growers
- Apple variety commercialization
In partnership with Cornell University, Crunch Time Apple Growers released their first two apple varieties — SnapDragon and RubyFrost — to the public in 2013. The first trees of these two varieties were planted in farmers’ orchards in 2011— and today there are more than 400 acres growing across the state. These new varieties are available at select farmers markets throughout 19 counties in New York State. Their mission is to commercialize the two new varieties by introducing them to New York State growers, commercial marketers, and consumers.
The company holds the exclusive license of the two new patented apple varieties, known as SnapDragon and RubyFrost. The two apple varieties were developed by a Cornell University professor.
