Crunch Time Apple Growers
- Apple variety commercialization
In partnership with Cornell University, Crunch Time Apple Growers released their first two apple varieties — SnapDragon and RubyFrost — to the public in 2013. The first trees of these two varieties were planted in farmers’ orchards in 2011— and today more than 400 acres are growing across the state. These new varieties are now commercially available at retail stores throughout the United States.
The company holds the exclusive license of the two new patented apple varieties, known as SnapDragon and RubyFrost. The two apple varieties were developed by a Cornell University professor.
