Harrick Plasma Inc.
R&D: Plasma Surface Treatment Instruments
- Plasma cleaners
- PlasmaFlo gas flow mixer
- Vacuum pumps
Harrick Plasma manufactures low-cost, benchtop plasma cleaners for use in research labs. Plasma treatment can be used for nanoscale surface cleaning and surface chemistry modification, and can be applied to a wide range of materials, such as glass, semiconductors, polymers, and metals, as well as complex surface geometries. Harrick Plasma products have been cited in more than 3,000 publications and nearly 150 patents in many research fields, including microfluidics, biomedical engineering and biomaterials, and materials research.
Harrick Plasma frequently works with Entrepreneurship at Cornell to hire student interns for summer positions. The company has used facilities at the Cornell Center for Materials Research (CCMR) and participated in CCMR's Industrial Collaboration Program (ICP). Harrick Plasma products have been purchased by Cornell researchers and a plasma cleaner is available as a shared instrument at the Cornell NanoScale Science and Technology Facility (CNF). Several of the company's technical staff are Cornell graduates.
