Halomine, Inc. develops, manufactures, and supplies novel high-performance, low-cost, and safe antimicrobial coating materials and technology. Their mission is to make food production, healthcare, and working and living environments more hygienic and sustainable through reducing the use and disposal of hazardous chemicals. The company will achieve these goals through smart chemistry, advanced material engineering, and continued innovation with their multidisciplinary teams that include scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs. Halomine’s lead product, HaloFilm, is a unique rechargeable antimicrobial liquid spray that creates an antimicrobial film on almost any surface. HaloFilm offers a continuous protection against microbes on surface materials like stainless steel, plastics, paint, or rubber.

Cornell Connection

Halomine’s technology was developed by a postdoc and professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University. The company’s foundational technology is licensed from Cornell University. It is also a 2019 JumpStart company in the Cornell Center for Materials Research, as well as a member of the Praxis Center for Venture Development.
