- Biodegradable composites
e2e Materials, Inc. develops, designs, engineers, and produces sustainable biocomposite replacements for high-volume wood composite products, such as cabinetry, furniture, and automotive components. Utilizing plant fibers and a proprietary soy-based resin to achieve extraordinarily high strengths, the company's products outperform industry legacy products through lower weight and reduced cost. e2e’s green attributes include an 81% reduction in embodied energy, natural biodegradability, and renewable feedstocks.
e2e Materials was the 2007 winner of the Johnson Graduate School of Management Business Idea competition. The Johnson School’s Big Red Ventures invested in e2e Materials. A Cornell faculty member in the Department of Fiber Science and Apparel Design in the College of Human Ecology invented the technology.
