R&D: Open Technologies for Durable Digital Content
DuraSpace is dedicated to saving the shared scholarly, scientific, and cultural record. DuraSpace continues to lead the development of community-driven open source technologies that provide long-term, durable access to digital assets. Additionally, the company provides digital preservation support services in the cloud on a subscription basis. DuraSpace is also expanding into new areas that include strategies for managing the “data deluge” and converting the overwhelming amount of data produced by scholars and scientists into useful information.
Fedora, a DuraSpace product, was originally developed by researchers at Cornell as an architecture for storing, managing, and accessing digital content in the form of digital objects.
